About Lesson
In the empirical paradigm of knowledge, the local customs and values form the social constructs, and these constructs assume the level of norms, values, and laws. e.g. A local custom in western societies is to celebrate the birth of a child, but when the child becomes an adult, the birthday celebration for him/ her becomes a norm and of great value. Practising this norm becomes more valuable than any other relationship. Hence, taking a divorce becomes rationalized as a social construct if the spouse has forgotten the birthday or didn’t able to give the diamond ring as a gift.
