About Lesson
Interpersonal relationships are eroded by guesswork, gossip, and backbiting, as condemned in the Quran. This destructive behavior involves assuming the worst about others, spying, and defaming them in their absence. Backbiting is akin to eating the flesh of one’s own brother, which is strongly discouraged. The Quran advises practicing taqwa (God’s love and fear) to prevent such harmful behaviors. Backbiting extends to belittling individuals, whether in their presence or absence, by highlighting their weaknesses. Such actions undermine mutual relationships.
